Interview - Japanese “newcomer” Tadayoshi Hayashi and his trainer

The Americans scored big in Aachen.  Laura Kraut winning  Thursday’s big class (first time in 30 years!), Chris Kappler winning Saturday’s Grand Prix and 4th in Sunday’s Grand Prix of Aachen. The best showing for the USA in years! Peter Wylde came in 20th with 4 faults in the first round and on Saturday he was second in one class with Fein Cera.  Wylde, “I was disappointed, because she was doing so well.....it was a rider mistake.”

Ludger Beerbaum and Goldfever won The Grand Prix of Aachen , making it the second time, in a row, he won the prestigious class with the stallion Goldfever. and the third time ever.  Beerbaum won the event in 1996 with Ratina Z for the first time.

The spectators during the week were noticeably fewer, making it a bit easier on the younger horses in the morning classes.  The stands in the long curve are often filled with screaming school children..
