Germans dominate European Championships!

Donaueschingen - After winning the team gold medal, the german riders continued to overwhelm their opponents, taking home all of the indivual medals, as well.  Christian Ahlmann (Cöster) won the individual gold, with silver and bronze going to Ludger Beerbaum (Goldfever) and Marcus Ehning (Borken).

German Dressage at the Regional Level

Frank Chapot is brushing away the dust left from previous generations. The Americans make a strong showing at Aachen.The event was marred by a freak accident involving Michael Whitaker.  After leaving the course, obviously upset at the refusal of his horse and almost parting from his mount, he was involved in an accident in the warm-up area. Eye witnesses reported Whitaker was trotting Landfurst when he “let the reigns loose...” letting the horse drop his neck, the horse stumbled, suffering a mulitple fracture. Whittaker was reported to have been “crying like a baby,” after the incident. Alphahorse took a closer look at the surprise starter for Japan, Tadayoshi Hayashi. After qualifying Sunday for the Olymics, he won the respect of the spectators.(Video & More)

Brabant! Highlights of the jump-off and other tidbidts from the World Cup at Indoor Brabant. Dressage, Jumping and Driving - Den Bosch had it all.

Franke Sloothaak, the legendary stylist, speaks out about the dilution of the Grand Prix, and how it effects the equine sport of show jumping in general. He, also, gives an inside look at two of his horse, Landgold 3 and Shela.

Recent additions to the alphahorse.de collection are an Interview with the members of the Belgian national equestrian team and highlights of the Mechelen World Cupat the Flaanders Horse Show in Belgium. An excited crowd kept the building shaking. Unfortunately, for the home team their victory was spoiled by their German neighbors.

Beat Mandli and L.B. Pozitano won the Audi Grand Prix in Maastricht in a 15 way jump-off, after an entry field of 45. The final round had some unexpected moments, including a refusal from Leena and Marcus Beerbaum. Check out the Jump-off under our Specials.
